Growing Strong: Long Island doesn't fall short on restaurant and bar options, with top-notch dining and tons of entertainment. Huntington is home to staple establishments like Finnegan’s Restaurant & Tap, which has been serving pub fare since 1912. Finnegan’s is the oldest continually operating bar in Huntington. But over the last few months a new wave of local restaurants have set up shop in and around town. Read below to find out more about the new kids on the block!

Mission Taco

A split between traditional dishes and trendy tacos, Mission Taco brings a chill vibe that is family friendly earlier in the day to a trendy bar scene late at night. Standing apart from the many other Meixan restaurants in and around town, Mission Taco serves vegan options and grilled octopus tacos among others. Every week they introduce new drinks to their menu and have a rotating list over over 20 craft beers. Mission Taco is located at 371 New York Ave, Huntington and opens Mon-Thurs 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m., Frid-Sat 11:30 a.m.- 11 p.m., and Sun 11:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Husband and Wife duo bring comfort food to Huntington. Leilu, which is named after their daughters Leila and Lucie, takes classic dishes that people are comfortable with and adds their own spin on them, from small plates and shareables like waffle sliders with maple-chili hollandaise to lamb bolognese verde with a pistachio-mint pesto. Leilu is located at 10 New Street, Huntington and opens Tue-Thurs 5 p.m.-10 p.m., Fri-Sat 5 p.m.-11 p.m. and Sun 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.

The decor is a fun mix of rock and roll and west coast surfer vibes.
